These are prints of my original painting of one of America's oldest buildings still standing, and the oldest brick building in the continental US, called Bacon's Castle. It was built for Arthur Allen in the Virginia colony in 1665, but was occupied by supporters of Nathaniel Bacon during the rebellion in 1676. It's a rare and incredible example of High Jacobean architecture in the US, displaying triple-stacked diagonal chimneys and Flemish gable ends of the main house, with an English bond brick pattern on the main house (left side). The main entrance was originally located in the center tower of the main section, but was later moved during renovations. The middle section, with the main door, features a Flemish bond brick pattern, and the section on the right features a American (or Common) bond pattern. All three patterns are depicted in the painting. The property was acquired and restored by Preservation Virginia and is open seasonally for tours.
Please note that the original painting is not for sale.
I print my prints on a polar matte paper using high-quality Canon inks upon ordering; please allow 3-5 business days for printing and shipping. Prints will have a white border around the edges, and can be framed with or without mats (frames and mats not included). Your print will be packed with backing paper and a protective clear sleeve, and will have rigid cardboard to help prevent damage in transit. Prints will ship via USPS Ground Advantage with insurance and tracking. Shipping costs are included in price.
