Welcome! I specialize in hand-painted, one-of-a-kind home portraits that are a great way to commemorate your family homestead, your newly-built dream home, and everything in between! I offer custom home portraits in several sizes. They make great gifts for anyone! I’m happy to paint several types of buildings: your home, barn, chicken coop, office, apartment/condo, venue, family church, favorite vacation location, etc. I also offer building portraits for fundraisers—just contact me for more info.
The Process:
If you are interested in a custom portrait, add the size you wish to purchase from the drop down menu, or contact me with your idea and the paper size you are interested in. It’s helpful if you want to include a photo of the house and any buildings you want painted. I will get a little more information from you, and when you are ready to proceed, you can either checkout here or I can send you a PayPal invoice with all of the details for your painting. Be sure to use an email address that you check regularly.
Upon full payment of the order, the following will happen:

I will have you send me 3 high-resolution photos of the front of your home via e-mail (smartphone pics usually work).

I will draw a pencil sketch of your home (front elevation, not perspective) and send you a photo for your approval. Any changes or special requests must be made at this time. Changes can’t be made after I’ve started painting.

Upon approval of the pencil sketch, I begin painting.

At completion of the painted portrait, I will send another photo for approval.

Once approved, I package and ship the painting.
Turnaround time is approximately 5-6 weeks to complete from sketching to the finished project. I try to catch as many details as I can paint by hand, but it’s not possible to do every detail. Please keep in mind that the smaller the size of painting you order, the less details there will be in the painting. I will try to include anything you request, though, and I have done animal and human shapes, but please note that I don’t do detailed humans or animals. Refer to the photos below for examples of these options. I am happy to hand-write info on the painting, too—family last name, address, or dates lived at the address, though this is completely optional.
Paintings are created on 100% cotton watercolor paper using professional artist watercolor paints (Winsor and Newton, Daniel Smith, DaVinci). You will receive the original painting, not a print, without a mat and unframed for you to take to your local framing shop and complete with the perfect mat and frame that fits your style. You can frame it as-is without a mat too, because I always leave a small white border (1/2" white space) around the painting.

Please note: shipping is included in the price for U.S. addresses only. I can ship outside of the U.S., but you will need to pay extra for shipping costs. I charge only the actual cost to ship to you—no additional fees will be included.
